“Spread the net” goal is to raise funds and distribute bednets in Africa to stop death by malaria.
Bednets are a physical barrier to the mosquito, which carries malaria. In Africa, malaria is the largest single cause of death of children under 5 years of age. Pregnant women are also especially vulnerable.
Every $10 that UNICEF raises purchases a bednet for a child in Africa.
